Belinda Bryce
I’ve been painting for most of my life. I love the materiality of paint and prefer not to frame work behind glass. I am inspired by nature and how to interact with it, mostly moving through it, observing its innate beauty and thinking about how that might translate into an abstract painting. I paint in my studio where there’s a dialogue between exploration and intentionality. I follow and trust a recursive process that is informed by this dialogue. I start out with a vague notion of visual impact. Meaning comes later. How do I know what I mean until I’ve responded to what I’ve created?
